-History-
In the early Middle Ages Grana belonged to the San Dalmazzo Abbey of
Predona and to the Bishop of Asti. It was first a fief of Calliano’s
Lords, and then of Occimiano’s Marquesses. At the beginning of
the XV century, it was conquered by Francesco Sforza and became part
of Gonzaga’s possessions. Around the middle of XVII century, Grana
was submitted under the sway of Del Carretto family.
